Can you tell me a little about you?

My Name is Olga, I am 23 and I have dedicated 6 years of my life to photography. I was born in Lviv, a cultural capital of Ukraine. Now I am based in Germany and I am traveling  a lot .

How and when did you get into your profession?

I got into my profession accidentally, as it often happens 🙂 I was looking for a job when I was a student . First it was just for fun, but now it’s my main and only job and I cannot imagine doing anything else yet.

What does modeling mean to you?

Modeling means a lot to me. It is my way of expression, my inspiration to be always creative and always different. Trying different looks is like living different small lives. The more I discover it, the more I discover myself.

Could you describe your style in three words?

It is difficult to describe my style in three words, because I am trying not to be restrained by a certain style. I find myself in every style and try to keep it always elegant, refined and intense. I am trying to do my best whatever I do and give my full power.

Where do you get inspiration from?

I get my inspiration everywhere: from the great artists and professionals, from movies and music, in contemplating my inner world. I am trying to stay in this inspired state of mind always and inspire other too.

What was the most uncomfortable situation you encountered during a session ?

The most uncomfortable situation  during a session happened to me when I was 18 years old, with no experience and with  too little confidence, just when I started modeling. One “model scout” have invited me to work for his agency and promised me a lot of money and many jobs. When I came to him, he took my passport away right during the session and I was supposed to do the jobs for free. As he blackmailed me and I was too scared and in a foreign country, of course, I couldn’t do anything.

What a model should be careful for ?

This is exactly what a model should be careful for-to define who is an adequate, reliable and a honest person to work with. This all comes with the experience, but if you are not sure, you can always ask someone, who is more competent.

Can you name four of your favorite photographers you worked with?

It is a real challenge to name the four favorite  photographers I worked with. I worked with so many great photographers around the world! They are countless!

What has been your most memorable session and why?

Every session is memorable for me, because at the every session I leave a little part of my soul. It is always something special-a new world, a new life. It must be always memorable, otherwise it makes no sense.

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new model looking to start their own career?

What I would advise a new model looking to start her own career is to be always persistent, never give up, even if it seems to be hard and impossible. Perfectionism is a good thing, but sometimes your imperfections turn into your trump cards. Don’t  let your fears and prejudices to beat your confidence and your belief in your success.

BONUS QUESTION: Redflag the “strange” photographer’s behavior.

There are many strange and crazy people, and of course many of them are photographers. Even being experienced and a good psychologist cannot assure you never meet a strange one.
