5 Things We Love About The Porsche Taycan

Porsche is revolutionizing the EV market with its all-electric luxury car, the Porsche Taycan, but it’s not all rosy

While Porsche is known for its luxury and sports car, it is probably not the first that comes into mind when considering an EV. With the EV market being led by Tesla and many more, it is only normal for EV enthusiasts to follow the pioneers in the industry. However, if you are hardline on a sports-like car that is also an EV, then you are hit with just a few options. Fret not; these options are from some of the best automobile brands out there, like Porsche. Porsche’s first-ever EV is its all-electric four-door sports car Taycan which hit the roads. Porsche Taycan managed to create an air of thrill and sophistication with its unique design, active aerodynamics, and a sporty yet dynamic flyline, something that’s always been an iconic feature of Porsche cars. Porsche currently offers 10 trims on the Taycan. The ‘simple’ Taycan is the base model, and then Taycan Turbo S, and Taycan GTS, are the advanced ones. Since it has hit the road, with its many models, and stunning design, the Porsche Taycan has awed the EV crowd substantially. So, here are the five things we absolutely loved about the Porsche Taycan and five things we didn’t.

The Taycan’s Exquisite Exterior Design

Be it the 911 Carrera, or the 718 Boxster and Cayman models, Porsche has always stood out with its groundbreaking design features. With the Taycan, this design tradition was challenged to create something that carries the Porsche design DNA yet something new. The result was a unique light signature with wider four-point daytime running lights and a large fixed glass panoramic roof (available on request). The car is also equipped with LED matrix headlights with PDLS Plus and an automatic headlight range control that adapts to the vehicles ahead detected by the camera.

Blazing Speed That’s A Breeze To Handle

When Porsche comes out with a car, there is no question about its speed. Porsche has been setting records with its high-speed cars, such as the Porsche 918 Spyder, 911, and the 919 Evo Hybrid. And now, with the Porsche Taycan, an EV, the story is no different. The Taycan goes from 0-62 mph with Launch Control in 5.4 seconds. Now, this is just with the base model. The Taycan Turbo S goes from 0-62 mph with Launch Control in 2.8 seconds, making it faster than the Tesla Model 3. The Taycan Turbo S musters 751 horses, making it one of the quickest EVs out there.

The Porsche Recuperation Management System Is Innovative

The Porsche Taycan delivers outstanding output, almost like an internal combustion engine! The maximum potential recuperation capacity of the Taycan goes up to 290 kW, which sets the car apart from most EVs. The Taycan is built to recover high levels of kinetic energy to keep the car going as far as possible once the accelerator pedal is released. The Porsche Recuperation Management (PRM) enables recuperation of up to 90-percent of the energy doubling up the endurance of this sporty car.

Supreme Performance And Charging Capabilities

he Taycan Turbo S features an efficient and powerful motor setup that can reach up to 750 horsepower and an acceleration of 0–60 miles per hour in just 2.6 seconds, with launch control, giving it a significant edge over the other popular EVs like the Mercedes-Benz EQS or the Audi e-tron GT. To top it up, with the 800-volt performance battery and Porsche Recuperation Management, the Taycan is sure to deliver outstanding performance and fast charging capabilities.

A Marvel Of Engineering With Advanced Technology

It’s normal for car companies to come out with base models with limited features, pushing you to buy something more premium. But that’s not the case with Porsche. The base model of Taycan comes with the best technology, on par with its premium models, including the permanent magnet synchronous electric motor and a 600 amp pulse inverter.
